Display Variant names on the Graph Topic Panel ???

Hi,
is it possible to display variant names instead of base names on the Graph Topic Panel. I am asking this as it will be very useful to display abbreviations instead of the full (base) topic name on the graph.

Topic Graph Panel [1] doesn't support variant names as node labels at the moment, I am afraid. But, I must admit, the feature might be handy. Have to add the feature to our to-do-list.

Yes, I bet adding this feature will increase a lot the popularity of your software among users worldwide. The most obvious reason is to provide a user interface for non-English speakers, and the second one is for visibility purposes, where abbreviations of long terms are certainly preferred.

Nevertheless I must not forget to mention to newcomers that Wandora according to my opinion is already an excellent piece of software, but it is obvious that you are aiming high....

We have released new Wandora version today (2012-06-21). I am happy to inform, we had the time to think over the feature of representing a topic using it's variant name. The feature is in new Wandora version. You can now select which topic property is used in topic representations. Available options are basename (default), subject identifier, subject identifier without domain, subject locator, English display name and user chosen variant name. Option is chosen with top menu bar option 'View > View topic as > ...'. Representation option affects (nearly) all topic representations in Wandora. If selected representation produces no name for a topic, Wandora views topic's basename (or subject identifier) in brackets.

Hi I noticed that the variant name for associations or roles is not displayed on the Graph Topic Panel, although it is defined and selected in the view topic as variant name. I suppose that is a little bug that can be fixed.

Another thing with variant names is that in case you do not want to define a basic name, the variant name is completely ignored.

I tested these when importing ltm files in the latest version of wandora.
