Help needed - Database SQL Extractor

Postby efang » Tue Sep 20, 2016 2:34 am

Hi all,

I'm a new user and trying to use Wandora Database SQL Extractor. I find it a bit inconvenient that the SQL Extractor menu is not easy to locate and the fact that if any error occurs, e.g.wrong connection or wrong SQL statement, the SQL Extractor box would closed automatically and I then have to reopen it from the menu items.

Is there a way to customize the tool bar so I can add a shortcut to SQL Extractor? (I can't find a way to do it, maybe it's supported?)
Is it possible to keep the SQL Extractor box even if any error is detected, so as an user, I can fix it quickly.

Thank you.

Hi Efang

Placing the Database SQL Extractor into Wandora's button bar is easy:

  • Start Tool Manager by selecting menu option Tools > Tool Manager v2...
  • In Tool sets tab, select Default buttons in the drop down menu.
  • Press Add tool button.
  • Locate SQL extractor tool. Select it by pressing Select button.
  • Close Tool Manager by pressing Close button.

The SQL extractor should now appear as a button right the IoT pinger button. Wandora saves the button set to the options.xml in the dist/resources/conf directory and the settings remain even if you restart the application.

To make the SQL extractor return to the query dialog is a bit more complicated and requires some programming. I'll put this into my todo list.

Kind Regards,
Aki / Wandora Team
