Waiana import and Waiana export replace old Maiana import and export features of Wandora application. Old features were developed for Maiana but it has been broken for years and it is unlikely fixed any time soon as the Topic Maps Labs is not really active anymore. To make these import and export features useful again, Wandora features Waiana service module implementing an API similar to the Maiana API, and Maiana import and export were redesigned and renamed as Waiana import and export.
Waiana is a topic map storage implemented with the Waiana service module. To use the topic map storage, Wandora has special Waiana import and Waiana export tools. These tools locate menu options File > Import > Import topic maps from Waiana... and File > Export > Export topic map to Waiana....
