What is Wandora?

Wandora is a software application used to build, edit and publish Topic Maps.

What can I do with the Wandora

With Wandora you can

  • Edit topic maps
  • Make file transformation: XML (with XSL), XTM, LTM, N3 and RDF(S).
  • Extract metadata from JPG, MP3, PDF and DOC files.
  • Extract data from MBOX email repositories
  • Convert SQL database to a topic map
  • Convert IMDB data to a topic map
  • Publish topic map as a WWW site

More generally Wandora suits well for

  • mining metadata from documents
  • storing data and knowledge
  • content and document management
  • knowledge aggregating and publishing

As these application areas sound very wide you may want to see also use-cases and real-life projects for implementation ideas.

Source code of Wandora is not public at the moment and we have not enclosed it to the software package. I believe at least some parts of the source code is made public in future to encourage people to write extensions and tools for Wandora.

I found a bug in the Wandora

We appreciate your bug reports. Please leave a note about the bug at the Forum or email it to us at office@gripstudios.com.

People behind the Wandora are Aki Kivelä and Olli Lyytinen. Wandora's history dates back to 2000 and current version of Wandora owes a great deal to Pasi Hytönen and Marko Wallgren. Pasi Hytönen invented the name Wandora and was part of second generation Wandora team. Marko Wallgren participated the initial Wandora team and was the man behind Kiasmart, the first application of long line of Wandora products.
